The procedure can be performed in our office using topical anesthesia. Treatment takes about 30 minutes, depending on the size of the area(s) being treated. Because the procedure does not ablate or remove the outer skin layer, patients can resume routine activities right after treatment. The skin will have a pinkish tone for 5-7 days. Swelling is minimal and generally resolves in about 2 days.

For optimal improvement, a series of 3 to 5 treatments spaced 1-2 weeks apart has been shown to be most effective. Results are immediate and progressive, with noticeable, beneficial effects accumulating over one to three months .
